Congratulations are in order for Durfee Field hockey coach, Nicole Henrique, who posted her 100th win at the helm of the Lady Hilltoppers, when her squad defeated Big 3 Conference rival Brockton, 7-0 in its season opener September 9.

Henrique, who also took over the Durfee softball squad last year, was handed the reins of the Hilltopper field hockey program back in 2013. She has turned the program into one of the best in the area since taking over. During her tenure, the Lady Hilltoppers have won the Big 3 Conference six times (2015–2018, 2024–2025), as well as winning the Southeast Conference in 2022. That SEC title was the first Southeast Conference title by any Durfee team! The Lady Toppers have also qualified for the postseason in eight out of those first 13 years.

“When I look back, I don’t just think about the wins and championships. I think about the first 4–5 years, when we were rebuilding, finding our identity, and establishing the culture we wanted this program to have,” said Henrique. “Today, I’m incredibly proud that we’ve built a program that teams know is going to compete. We are not anyone’s easy win. We have built this program on accountability, a strong family culture, and the fire to win.”
