Durfee Girls Hoop Wins Holiday Tournament

The Durfee girls basketball team took first place in the Skip Karam Holiday Tournament, held at Durfee’s Luke Urban Field House. The Lady Hilltoppers defeated Somerset-Berkley, 46-31 in the championship game. Durfee’s Jasiya Norwood was named tournament MVP.

Durfee Swim & Dive Splits With B-R

Durfee faced off against Bridgewater-Raynham at Durfee High School’s Karen Jarabek Pool. The meet was split with the boys falling to 0-2 in their 74-66 loss and the girls picking up their first win to go to 1-1 on the season, winning 78-68.

On the girls side double winners came from Claire Bjerre in the Dive Event and 500 Free (161.15 and 7:09.25), Bella Nunes in the 100 Back and 200 IM (1:27.60 and 3:18.88), individual wins came from Avery Antunes in the 100 Fly (1:20.51) and Kai Levesque in the 100 Breast (1:32.46). Durfee would also sweep all three relays with Antunes, Nunes, Levesque and Ella Farias in the 200 Medley Relay (2:20.82), Antunes, Levesque, Bjerre, and Farias in the 200 Free Relay (1:57.55), and the 400 Free Relay by Nunes, Levesque, Gretta Moniz, and Liliana Goncalves (5:24.63).

For the boys, Micah Ross kicked off the meet, winning the Dive Event with a score of 188.25. Michael Harrington was a double winner in the 200 and 500 Free events (2:16.83 and 6:17.90) Omar Mahmoud in both the 200 IM and 100 Breaststroke races (2:42.41 and 1:19.38). The relay team of Harrington, Mahmoud, Richard Rittenberg, and Logan Vandenburgh also won the 400 Relay with a time of 4:28.57.

Brockton Dominates at Big 3 Cross Country Championships

The Brockton boys and girls cross country teams both easily took first place the 2025 Big 3 Conference Meet held on October 22. In the boys action, the Boxers, led by a first place performance from Seamus Canniff, took 8 of the top ten spots. On the girls side, the Lady Boxers took 5 of the top 10 spots, paced by first-place finisher, Aubrey Talbot.
